　　    This book has been produced to meet a need for an English textbook geared to a bilingual education project in the Shandong University of Science and Technology.The microcontroller field is a discipline of high relevance to a spectrum of engineersin electronics， control, measurement, robotics, computation and the bio-medicalareas. The subject is taught to more than 500 undergraduate students in the college,and although given at the third year of the degree course, it is foundational to thevarious specialisations which students take. Therefore it was felt to be a good choicefor the bilingual experiment.
