　　胡敏，湖南华容人，人称『胡雅思』，新东方教育集团总裁，北京新东方学校第二任校长，著名英语教学与测试专家，留英学者。十九岁湖南湘潭大学英语系本科毕业，一九八八年获上海师范大学英语系英语语言学硕士学位，二十八岁破格晋升副教授，原国际关系学院英文系副主任、英语专业硕士生导师。从事高校英语教育事业近二十年，多次获优秀教师称号、青年教师讲课比赛优胜奖，荣获北京市第五届哲学社会科学优秀成果二等奖，在全国各种英语语言文学专业学刊上发表学术论文数十篇，现已出版英语菱数十部。多次应邀赴英联邦国家、日本著名大学和语言学校进行学术交流。一九九五年到新东方任兼职托福教师，在新东方开创国内考试培训部和雅思考试培训部，包括四级、六级、考研、英语、雅思四种培训项目，在英语培训领域提出自己独特的教学理念—改进学习方法、提高应试技巧、加强英语实力、升华事业人生，这一理念在新东方的课堂上得以贯彻并为广大学员所认可。

　　Ten years ago，while at the University of Western Australia，anthropologist Nina Jablonski was asked to give a lecture on human skin.As an expert on primate evolution，she decided to discuss the evolution of skin color，but when she went through the literature on the subject she was dismayed.Some theories advanced before the 1970s tended to be racist，and others were less than convincing.White skin，for example，was reported to be more resistant to cold weather，although groups like the lnuit(Eskimos)are both dark and particaularly resistant to cold.
